Family Room
We have reserved the room next door to the Ballroom as a family room. The room will not be staffed, but will have tables, chairs and a lot of floor space for families. You can leave stuff in the room and are free to use the room whenever you like. We just ask that if other kids are sleeping or trying to sleep, that you respect the room as a "quiet space".

Attire: Elegant Island Wear
Several guests have asked us about attire. Hawaii is very casual so it's hard for a lot of mainlanders to understand the subtle differences between "casual" casual and "dressy" casual. :) Slippers, shorts and beachwear are obviously on the too casual side. Loud Aloha shirts and muumuus would also be considered too casual. Dressier and more elegant Island attire for men would be reverse-print Aloha shirts or dress shirts and dress slacks; jackets not required, ties optional. For women, a knee-length cocktail dress should be perfect.

We aren't forcing our guests to wear local attire, but if you are interested in buying some, you can find a good selection at the Macy's in Ala Moana Shopping Center. Costco even has some Reyn Spooner Aloha shirts at a great price! :) This is mostly for the gentlemen, as most younger women in Hawaii don't wear muumuus unless you're a Punahou graduate or my Mom! :)

You can also check out the website of the Moana Surfrider, where the reception is being held, in order to get a feel for the atmosphere. If you're still uncertain about attire, please let us know and we will gladly answer any questions. :)
